New Patient Registration

The doctors welcome new patients who live within our practice area. As it often takes some time for records to be forwarded from your former practice all newly registered patients will be asked to complete a health questionnaire and are offered a consultation with the doctor. 

How to Register

We are currently accepting new patients providing you live in the practice area. If you are unsure whether your address is within the catchment area, please contact the practice and we can confirm.

We are currently trialling a new online patient registration system which should improve the registration process and make it quicker for you to register.

Alternative ways to Register

If you do not wish to take advantage of our online process then you can complete our paper form by clicking here, can be picked up from one of our practices. Please note this process take a little longer to complete than our automated form.

If you would prefer to register using a paper form, please follow the instructions below:

  1. Ensure you live within the practice boundary areas. Contact reception by telephone if you are unsure.
  2. Complete the NHS (GMS1) Registration Form for each member of your household who wishes to register
  3. Deliver form to reception of the GP Practice you wish to join.
  4. Your form will be checked and processed by our admin staff
  5. You will be notified when your registration is complete

Catchment Area

Overseas Visitors

Those who visit the UK from overseas must pay for their care when they are in England.

In 2015 changes were made to how the NHS charges overseas visitors for healthcare so the NHS does not lose out on income for the services these patients have received.

Asylum Seekers and Refugees

All asylum seekers and refugees and those who are homeless, overseas visitors, whether lawfully in the UK or not, are eligible to register with a GP practice even if they are not eligible for secondary care (hospital care) services.

Temporary Registration

If you are ill while away from home or if you are not registered with a doctor but need to see one you can receive emergency treatment from the local GP practice for 14 days. After 14 days you will need to register as a temporary or permanent patient.

You can be registered as a temporary patient for up to three months. This will allow you to be on the local practice list and still remain a patient of your permanent GP. After three months you will have to re-register as a temporary patient or permanently register with that practice.

To register as a temporary patient simply contact the local practice you wish to use. Practices do not have to accept you as a temporary patient although they do have an obligation to offer emergency treatment. You cannot register as a temporary patient at a practice in the town or area where you are already registered.

Out of Area

We do not take patients who are not in the practice’s catchment area, however we will take on patients on a temporary basis if they are staying with a patient registered with one of our Practices. This can be for ‘immediate necessary treatment’ or a registration for up to 3 months.

We’re here to support you before, during and after your consultation at our practice. If you would like any information in a different language or format, or require an interpreter during your appointment, please let us know when booking so that arrangements can be made before you attend.

If an interpreter has been booked to help you to communicate, be aware that the interpreter works for an external private interpreting company.
